Our board is made up of volunteer
m ant owrien and merchant tnaaagere. In June of this year we were called
npo o assist lin matters concerning the Alii Drive One-way for Deliveries, and
Sign ode. C?~e met often to review the Sif;n Code and give our input on the
needle revieiaons of the Sign Code. KVMA submitted communication No. 42.60
to tk County Council. We also meet with Councilman, Curtis Tyler fora
ten of our rommunications on two oocasfons. Muril Boot abd myself were
pre t for both meetings. Our meetings were beneficial and progressed well,
After he rtvisisons were made, Mr. Tyler and myself went over the changes.
After ur review, it was noted that KVMA had to meet to give its rxomrnendstions,
howe er, with the Ironmaa event fast approaching, I knew it would be impossible
to get Lack with any additional input before the Council meeting set for October
19~. As we all know the agenda must be published and proceed as planned.
Wn a ao time gave any aut.horiaation for nny individuals to epewk in our behalf
for th County Council hearing on the Sign Code. We were given verbal notice
that ere were merchants who had met with us in our Sign Code'Worbng group,
who ould testify in their behalf. Later, a petition was circulated fur t}~ose who
elisap roved of some restrictions and most of ovr board members did not sign it. ' !
We pest those; who have their right to testify in their behalf. We want to make
ii v rdear that we still want to review this new Draft 7 and rovicw the Master ~
Plan f Kailas Village. It id very important that a Sign Code Ordinance be passed
to ia~ re that Kailas Village retain its "Kona Way of Lifd' We will continue this
dials and inform you of our recommendations as soon as they are available.
i
~es r-+*~Y+ ' ~ ~
aril Agnila
Preel ent
co: $ MA Board members, Kona Outdoor Gircle
Comm.
