COUNTY OIL IIAW.I`:I STATE OF IIt~WAI`I <br /> ~~OLUTION NO. <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING T'HE ACCEPTANCE OF A IVIONETARY DONATION OF $1,500 TO THE <br /> HA9l6sAl`I COU~fTY FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> OIVHEREAS, Wal-Mart Hilo, as part of their community involvement program, has donated monies <br /> <br /> totaling $1,500 to the Hawaii County Fire Department; and <br /> ~IIIHEREAS, this donation, $1,000 for fire prevention and $500 for health related issues, will be used for <br /> <br /> the purchase of educational materials to be distributed to the public in commemoration of Fire Prevention <br /> <br /> Week in the month of October and of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week in the month of May of next <br /> year; and <br /> ~ONHER~AS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on <br /> behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and <br /> VIfHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation. <br /> NOS, TI~EREFORE, 13E IT RESOLVED RY THt~ COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HA~PIlAI`I that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii <br /> accepts the $1,500. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation be sent to Mr. Glenn Schneider, Manager, <br /> Wal-Mart Hilo, 325 E.
