No. 258-04 <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hiles Hawaii 96720 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 258-04, reports as follows: <br />Resolution No. 258-04, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 361 by Director of Finance William <br />hakaba, via Communication No. 830. dated October 22, 2004, authorizes the acceptance of~a <br />donation from Wal-Mart Hilo. <br />Wal-Mart Hilo, as part of its community involvement program, has graciously donated $1,000.00 <br />for fire prevention and $500.00 for health related issues to the Hawaii County Fire Department <br />for the purchase of educational materials to be distributed to the public in commemoration of <br />Fire Prevention Week and of Emergency Medical Services (FMS) Week in May 2005. <br />Pursuant to Article XIH, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council. on behalf of the <br />County. may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other personal property or of real <br />estate or any interest in real estate. <br />A letter ot~appreciation will be sent to Mr. Glenn Schneider, Manager, Wal-Mart Hilo, <br />325 E. Maka'ala Street, Hilo.
