HCPD ROADBLOCK PROGRAM <br /> PAGE2 <br /> GRANT PERIOD RESULTS: <br /> (FINAL REPORT) <br /> • Established 25 sobriety checkpoints with grant funds and 2 sobriety checkpoints with <br /> county funds in the fourth quarter. Checkpoints were established on all major <br /> holidays. <br /> Total of 96 sobriety checkpoints with grant funds and 36 sobriety checkpoints <br /> with county funds established during fiscal year. <br /> • Initiated 65 arrests for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of an Intoxicant <br /> (OVUII) at grant-funded checkpoints and 1 OVUII arrests at county funded <br /> checkpoints in the fourth quarter. <br /> Total of 126 OVUII arrests with grant funds and 27 OVUII arrests with county <br /> funds made during fiscal year. <br /> • Initiated 145 arrests for other violations at grant-funded checkpoints and 7 arrests at <br /> county funded checkpoints in the fourth quarter. <br /> Total of 255 arrests for other violations with grant funds and 62 arrests for other <br /> violations at county funded checkpoints made during fiscal year. <br /> • Issued 3 seat belt and 113 other citations for violations at grant funded checkpoints <br /> and 6 seat belt, 3 child restraint and 23 other citations for violations at county funded <br /> checkpoints in the fourth quarter. <br /> Total of 17 seatbelt, 6 child restraint and 553 other citations for violations issued <br /> at grant funded checkpoints and 16 seatbelt, 8 child restraint and 308 other <br /> citations issued at county funded checkpoints during the fiscal year. <br /> • Screened 3174 vehicles at grant-funded projects and 256 vehicles at county funded <br /> checkpoints in the fourth quarter. <br /> Total of 14,426 vehicles screened at grant-funded projects and 5261 vehicles <br /> screened at county funded projects during the fiscal year. <br /> • 37 roving enforcement projects were conducted on a trial basis in the fourth <br /> quarter. These efforts resulted in 45 DUI arrests, 102 other arrests and eleven <br /> citations issued. These statistics are reflected in the quarterly and yearly totals <br /> listed above. <br /> • Ordered 35mm cameras for the Traffic Enforcement Unit. <br /> <br /> • Attended Lifesavers Conference, DRE Seminar and Statewide Traffic Commanders <br /> Meetings. <br /> <br />
