Taniguchi Ltd. who is the owner of the 2.0-ac. project site <br /> <br /> and adjacent 8.4-acre commercial property. <br /> Change of Zone Request <br /> The applicant is requesting a change of zone from RS-10 Single Family <br /> <br /> Residential to CN-10 Neighborhood Commercial to allow the development of an <br /> off-street employee parking lot on the subject property. <br /> Apvrovine A¢ency <br /> The County Council of the County of Hawaii is the approving authority for <br /> the Change of Zone Request. <br /> Location <br /> The subject property is located on Kilauea Avenue between Puainako Street <br /> and Kahaopea Street. It is adjacent to the owner's existing commercial facility, KTA <br /> Center, and is shown on Figures 1 and 2 of this document. The Tax Map Key (TMK} <br /> for the property is 2-2-40: 7, Third Division. <br /> Objective and Reason fo;Change of Zone Request <br /> The objective of this project is to develop additional parking in the existing <br /> KTA Center for employee use. Existing parking is insufficient to accommodate <br /> customer and employee pazking demand .in the same area. Notably, vacant space <br /> exists within the applicant's property, adjacent to the shopping complex, and is <br /> accessible and suitable for employee use. The applicant desires to use this site for the <br /> proposed parking addition. <br /> The current parking area, fronting the KTA Cer~x•, has undergone a few <br /> changes that have affected its capacity.
