Hawaii 96720. <br /> RECITALS <br /> WHEREAS, the STATE, pursuant to Chapter 349, Hawaii Revised Statutes is mandated <br /> to develop and implement health, education, recreational and cultural programs for elderly persons; <br /> and to develop and implement active programs of consumer protection and pre-retirement <br /> counseling; and to provide technical assistance and liaison for the purpose of establishing elderly <br /> <br /> controlled local service delivery systems providing comprehensive services and employment <br /> <br /> opportunities for the elderly throughout the State; <br /> WHEREAS, under the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, 42 U.S.C. §3001 gj. ~gq., <br /> §30581 and the rules adopted pursuant thereto, 45 C.F.R. Chapter XIII, part 1321, the EOA is <br /> <br /> responsible for overall coordination of activities in the State of Hawaii relating to elderly persons; <br /> WHEREAS, CONTRACTOR is designated by the STATE as the area agency on aging <br /> <br />
