Kealakekua Bay for Over one - <br /> huntlred years. We own approximately 500 acres which extends from the Mamalahoe <br /> Highway down to the ocean. The property has been used primarily for cattle ranching and <br /> coffee farming. <br /> We are posed to our property below the old railroad, or ttte currern new Hokuli'a by- <br /> pass highway, being categorized as "Important Agricultural Land" as is proposed in Draft 1 <br /> of the Flew General Flan. s land is steep, rocky and arid. The avarage ralMall is <br /> probably less than 20 irtcttes a year. We have only been able t0 graze cattle On this land <br /> during the wet months when there is some grass. Even this usage has not been profitable <br /> for us. Very little would grow on this land without extensive and expensive Irrigation and <br /> land preparation. "Important AggricuRural land" would be a complete miss categorization of <br /> this area.
