28. Solid Waste: Solid waste would be collected and disposed of at the Hilo solid waste <br />transfer station and landfill site located off of Leilani Street, in compliance with <br />applicable Federal, State and County rules and regulations. <br />29. Police/Fire Protection: The subject property will be served by the Hilo Central Fire <br />Station located on Kinoole Street or the 24-hour substation at Waiakea and supported <br />by additional substation at Kawailani. The Police Headquarters is located on Kapiolani <br />Street, approximately two miles from the subject property. <br />30. Medical Services: The community within the City of Hilo proper contains the Hilo <br />Medical Center as well as various medical and dental clinics in the area. The proposed <br />project is not anticipated to add significantly to the demand for emergency and daily <br />medical care facilities in the Hilo area. <br />31. All other essential utilities or services are available to the subject property. <br />AGENCIES' COMMENTS <br />32. Police Department (May 1, 1997 Memo): <br />"We have no objections to the change of zone application; however, the proprietor <br />should be required to open and close at reasonable hours to limit the inconvenience to <br />the neighbors." <br />33. Real Property Tax Division (May 12, 1997 Memo): <br />"A review of the assessment of this parcel as "commercial" will be done for 1998. <br />Current Real Property taxes are paid through June 30, 1997." <br />34. Department of Transportation (May 13, 1997 Letter): <br />"Thank you for your transmittal of April 21, 1997. <br />"The subject project is not anticipated to have a significant impact on our State <br />transportation facilities. <br />"We appreciate the opportunity to provide comments." <br />35.
