Hilo Zone Map. Presently existing commercial establishments in this area include the <br />Leung's Chop Suey House, Bank of Hawaii, Automotive Supply Center and Specially <br />Ono commercial kitchen. The General Commercial (CG) zoned areas are situated <br />along Piilani Street, which is approximately 1,300 feet to the northwest of the subject <br />property. <br />PU1BL.IC FACILITIES AND SERVICES <br />25. Access: Existing accesses to the property are via Kalanikoa Street and Kekuanaoa <br />Avenue. Kalanikoa Street has a 50 -foot wide right-of-way with 20 to 22 -foot wide <br />pavement and grassed shoulders. Kekuanaoa Avenue has a 40 -foot wide right-of-way <br />with 20 to 22 -foot wide pavement and grassed shoulders. According to the City of <br />Hilo Zone Map, Kekuanaoa Avenue is proposed to be increased to a 60 -foot <br />right-of-way and therefore, a 10 -foot wide future road widening strip is located along <br />that frontage of the subject property. Kekuanaoa Avenue serves as a main roadway <br />from the Hilo airport to Kilauea Avenue. No sidewalks have been constructed within <br />the Kekuanaoa Avenue and Kalanikoa Street rights-of-way in the vicinity of the <br />property. According to the Department of Public Works, cars reversing into <br />Kekuanaoa Avenue from the 3 -car parking stalls and left turns into the subject property <br />from Kekuanaoa Avenue may create congestions and "backup" problems. However, it <br />should be pointed out that the applicants have revised the parking layout and <br />ingress/egress accesses. <br />26. Water System: Water is available to the subject property from an existing 8 -inch <br />waterline along Kalanikoa Street or an existing 6 -inch waterline along Kekuanaoa <br />Avenue. <br />27. Wastewater System: There is an existing 10 -inch diameter collector sewer line along <br />Kekuanaoa Avenue. The Department of Public Works anticipates construction of <br />sewer lines, including service laterals along Kalanikoa Street in 1997-1998. <br />Municipal sewer system is planned to be installed for the entire Waiakea Houselots <br />area. <br />5FA <br />
