~p~,~SV Os <br /> °l •ii- . i <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ~E Os ~M~~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 61 435 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF STATE <br /> FUNDING APPROPRIATED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE PURSUANT TO <br /> ACT 40, SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 2004, FOR COMMUNITY ADOLESCENT <br /> DRUG PREVENTION PROGRAMS AND OTHER COMMUNITY ANTI-DRUG <br /> EFFORTS AIMED AT PREVENTING ICE USE ON THE ISLAND OF HAWAII <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Legislature enacted Act 40, Session Laws of Hawaii 2004, <br /> <br /> which appropriated, in part, funds for community adolescent drug prevention programs and other <br /> community anti-drug efforts aimed at preventing ice use on the Island of Hawaii; and <br /> WHEREAS, Act 40 appropriated, in part, $100,000 to fund grassroots community efforts to <br /> sustain its anti-drug campaigns; provided that no single nonprofit entity shall receive more than <br /> $5,000; $380,000 for community adolescent drug prevention programs on the Island of Hawaii; <br /> $100,000 to fund community-based substance abuse prevention programs, with priority given to <br /> drug education and awareness in the schools, community partnerships, and non-school youth <br /> activities in communities with the greatest need; and $50,000 for community anti-drug efforts <br /> aimed at preventing crystal methamphetamine use. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county departments <br /> obtain the consent of the council to expend, and receive any funds or other assistance the federal <br /> or state governments in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to any powers <br /> granted by law. <br /> <br />
