At this time I would like to
provide some background on my experience with Christopher Norrie, the owner of

both Seamount, and the subdivision directly below it.
In 1989 I purchased a property from Mr Norrie in Ka'awaloa subdivision,

(his initial development), and quickly discovered that in dealing with him things are
seldom what they seem. This proved to be the case not just for me but for the county
as well.
Ka'awaloa was the first two acre agricultural subdivisionttto~~b~~,e approved
ofby the county, and at that time there was some controversy weer
or not such
small lots were viable for farms. Soon after, this loophole, that Mr Nome had so
skillfirlly utilized was declared anon-viable classification and was closed.
One of the preconditions necessary for him to profit from this reduction in
zoning was that he strictly enforce the agricultural element ofhis protective
covenants. The spirit of this demand on the part ofthe councfl was flagrantly

ignored when Mr Nome was offered $200,000 from United States Cellular for

the purpose of erecting a 140' tower. The location he chose was directly in front ofthe
lot owners just inside the farm he now wishes to carve up and sell as the Seamount

project.
I~... `f 52.
