SEAMOUNT SOLUTIONS RECFly®~.,
>t~
Aloha council members: ~-f
County Council
And mahalo for giving the neighbors of I{a'awaloa another opportunity to
address you with our concerns and apprehensions. Last week I pointed out that the
proposed
ABD subdivision known as Seamount was part of a larger development whose
cumulative effect would create serious infrastructwe problems.
My request at thaT time was that you should insist that the owner of both projects
be requiered to follow the plans submitted for your approval as drawn. That the makai
lots accessing Ka'awaloa Road, which are the easments illustrated on the plans, be the
only easments alowed.
Through his representative, the owner, Mr. Christopher Nome stated that he could
not do this, and that he fully intended to link these two projects to our subdivision road. In
addition these easement rights had been sold along with the property below, opening up
the
potential for an unknown number of lots.
Last week the possibility ofusing Ka'awaloa road as a remedy for our
worries was put forth. The council has given us a week to look into the matter and study
our options. Since then we were given the most recent conceptual plans of the state's
proposals for the Kealekekua bay area. They show Ka'awaloa road as an important link ut
traffic flow.
Currently Ka'awaloa is a defacto road, used by ranchers, farmers, hikers, and
trail ride companies. The state has marked it as an important access for the future

visitor center on the Pali.
Oomra Diw ~J~ . 2-O
eu. x.. ~ .
~pl'QSented Cou.vuL
lief.
