T~~ O~I~IC~ OF THE <br /> P~OSE~IJTINCa ATTORNEY <br /> WH~R~AS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is the recipient of a State of Hawaii <br /> Department of the Attorney General's Crime Prevention & Justice Assistance Division grant for the <br /> County of Hawai'i's Non-Support Prosecution project; and <br /> WO°~~REAS, these grant funds, derived from federal funds, will provide for the creation of an <br /> Investigator III (Temporary) position and a Legal Assistant II (Temporary) position for this project; <br /> and <br /> WH~R~,4S, these two positions will be involved in the investigation and prosecution of <br /> individuals who are persistently non-compliant of child support orders and with an emphasis on <br /> individuals with "off the books" income who evade their responsibility to support their children; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Investigator III (Temporary) position will provide investigative and follow-up <br /> support which is critical to the identification and development of persistent non-support cases and <br /> the Legal Assistant II (Temporary) position will provide the paralegal support for this project; and <br /> WI-IEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that the Mayor <br /> has the power to "Create positions...fortyhich appropriations have been made by the council...". <br /> NOW, TO-IEREFOf~E, ~tm IT RESOLVIm® ~Y THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> HAWAII that an Investigator III (Temporary), SR-20, position and a Legal Assistant II (Temporary), <br /> SR-20, position be created for as long as there are grants or other outside source of funds <br /> available. <br /> <br />
