No. 1-1A-IIIA-98-3(N) <br /> #3A <br /> AGREEMENT FOR OLDER AMERICAN ACT FUNDS <br /> EDUCATION AND TRAINING <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, effective the]a day of September 1997, is entered into <br /> between the Executive Office on Aging, State of Hawaii (hereinafter"STATE")and the County <br /> of Hawaii by and through its County Council and its Mayor(hereinafter"CONTRACTOR"), <br /> whose business address is c/o Hawaii County Office of Aging. 101 Aupuni Street. Room 342, <br /> Hilo. Hawaii 96720. <br /> RECITALS <br /> WHEREAS, under Title III-A of the Older Americans Act of 1965, as amended, <br /> 35 U.S.C.§3028 (a) (1) (hereafter the "Act"),the Commissioner of the Administration on Aging, <br /> Office of the United States Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (hereafter <br /> DHHS) is authorized to make grants to states for the administration of its State Plan, including <br /> the preparation of the State Plan on Aging,the evaluation of activities carried out under State <br /> Plan, the collection of data and carrying out analyses related to the need for services, the <br /> provision of short-term training to personnel of public and nonprofit agencies and organizations <br /> engaged in the operation of programs authorized by the Act; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii County Office of Aging is designated by the STATE as the area <br /> agency on aging responsible for the collection of data and the carrying out of analyses related to the <br /> need for services and for meeting the training needs of personnel in the field of aging; and <br /> 1 <br />
