Explain cost item Crossing Guard training
Account 010.201.5215.01 Crossing Guard Training represents a grant that the Department
received in the past to pay for overtime incurred by Department staff to conduct training.
14. Explain drop in funding for CPO program
Account 010.201.5216.16 Community Policing Program represents grant funds received by
the Department. The large decrease in the budgeted amount from $400,000 to $83,600 is due
to the fact that the seven (7) Ice Task Force positions were only funded for 2 years. Since the
funding for these positions originates through the Office of Justice Programs, Community
Policing Program and is only managed by the Hawaii Community Foundation, the funds are
identified under this account number. The FY 2007 Budget includes funding for these
positions upon the expiration of the grant.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 961-2244.
Attachment
