No. 308-06 PLACE: Council Chambers TIME: 10:28 a.m. Council Chair and Members Hawaii County Council Hilo, Hawaii 96720 Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 308-06, reports as follows: Resolution No. 308-06, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 803, dated March 30, 2006, authorizes the payment of funds of a later fiscal yeaz and more than one fiscal yeaz for amulti-year lease of Real Property for the Motor Vehicle Registration Office in Kona. The Kona Motor Vehicle Registration (KMVR) section currently shazes space with the Kona Real Property Tax office at the Hanama Place Office Building in Kailua-Kona. In order to better serve the public, the Finance Depaztment is proposing to lease space formerly used by the Territorial Savings Bazllc in the Territorial Centre. There will be more space to accommodate a growing staff and the public, the pazking will be better, and the parking at Hanama Place will be somewhat relieved. The proposed lease is for five years. Funds would be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated costs. Pursuant to Section 10-11, Hawaii County Chazter, any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year must be approved by resolution. There was no discussion on this measure.
