In <br /> addition, the Administration requests authorization to sublease approximately 3 acres of <br /> the subject property to Hospice of Hilo, anon-profit organization. <br /> RECOMMENDED EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> Upon Board approval. <br /> PURPOSE <br /> The proposed lease with DLNR to acquire 54.99 acres of State land in close proximity to <br /> the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UH Hilo) campus is desired to further UH Hilo's academic <br /> and program expansion, to include the College of Pharmacy, affordable faculty housing, <br /> additional facilities, classrooms and labs, a recreational field, and bikeways that traverse <br /> the acreage that connect and access Mohouli Street. The proposed sublease between the <br /> University and Hospice of Hilo is desired to support existing and future cooperative <br /> educational program opportunities. <br /> BACKGROUND INFORMATION <br /> This request is submitted in accordance with Section 10-1 of the Board of Regents' Bylaws <br /> and Policies. <br /> 200 W.
