Angel; Isbell, Virginia
Subject: Testimony on Bill 261, charter amendment on impeachment

Bill 261 Impeachment immunity.

I ask that the County Council vote no on this amendment.

Let me be blunt!

If the council members act and serve above board, they have no fear of impeachment.
There are already many mechanisms to throw out frivolous impeachment claims.

The Council should be above implacing back door protection mechanisms to prevent full range of legal
options in the case of a bad apple in the barrel. Suppose someone with the moral and ethical character
of the recently guilty corporate scroundrels gets elected to the Council? Then you all look bad, for the
full term!

Resist the temptation! Stand on your honesty. Vote against the amendment. You don't need it and it is
probably unconstitutional. You shouldn't give a pardon before the fact.

Michael Reimer
Kailua-Kona
GeoMike5@att.net

Comm No. O 07•
Ref.
