The petition was deemed insufficient on June 5, 2006 on the grounds that the <br /> petition "is signed by less than the required number of qualified voters of the County." The <br /> petition must contain 4,846 valid signatures to be deemed sufficient. The petition filed on <br /> May 17, 2006, contained 3,001 signatures. The petition is deemed to contain 1,366 signatures <br /> of qualified voters of the County. This number is 3,480 signatures of qualified voters less than <br /> required. <br /> Pursuant to Section 11-5(a) and (b), Article XI, Hawaii County Charter, the following <br /> findings, which will be presented to the committee as outlined herein, show [he particulars <br /> wherein the petition is not sufficient. The Save Our Land Citizens' Committee is hereby <br /> <br /> notified that pursuant to the Section 11-5, Article XI, Hawaii County Charter: <br /> 1.
