The petition must contain 4,846 valid signatures to be deemed sufficient. The Save <br /> <br /> Our Land Citizens' Committee filed a petition containing 3,001 signatures on May 17, 2006, and <br /> <br /> a supplementary petition containing 5,781 signatures on June 16 and 19, 2006. It is determined <br /> <br /> that a total of 3,982 signatures submitted by the Save Our Lands Citizens' Committee were <br /> <br /> qualified and valid. This is 864 signatures below that required to be deemed sufficient. <br /> <br /> Pursuant to Section 11-5(a) and (b), Article XI, Hawaii County Charter, the following <br /> <br /> findings, which will be presented to the Committee as outlined herein, show the particulars <br /> <br /> wherein the petition is not sufficient. The Save Our Land Citizens' Committee is hereby notified <br /> <br /> that pursuant to the Section 11-5, Article XI, Hawaii County Charter: <br /> <br /> 1. If a majority of the Committee elects to amend the petition, you must notify the <br /> <br /> Clerk.
