The Center's Hilo field station is ideally located to allow research biologists to <br /> develop new tools to resolve damage and concerns posed by Coqui Frogs. As part of WS' <br /> overall Coqui control efforts, NWRC conducts a pre- and follow-up site survey to determine the <br /> effectiveness of all spray operations. <br /> <br /> In June, WS received congressional funding which was used to implement a nursery spray <br /> program here on-theBigIsland. WS,along with the 4tate Department_ofAgriculture, has <br /> selected nurseries in need of assistance. From June to September, six temporary WS employees <br /> have been sanitizing these nurseries through spraying and habitat modification. WS will <br /> continue to monitor the results of all spray operations. <br /> <br /> This concludes my testimony.
