<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> (b) Any individual providing services to the residents who develops <br /> evidence of an infectious disease shall be immediately relieved of any duties relating to <br /> food handling or direct resident contact, or both, and shall continue to be relieved of <br /> duties until such time as a physician certifies it is safe for the individual to resume the <br /> duties. Undiagnosed skin lesions, or respiratory tract symptoms or diarrhea shall be <br /> considered presumptive evidence of an infectious disease. <br /> (c) There shall be clear documentation that all those who provide services to <br /> residents have been informed concerning subsections (a) and (b). <br /> (d) The responsible adult shall have, as a minimum, the following skills for <br /> the respective time periods of absence of the licensed care home operator. This does not <br /> preclude the temporary transfer of the residents to another suitably licensed and staffed <br /> adult residential care home. <br /> Duration of absence Required skills of the <br /> of care home operator responsible adult <br /> As long as zero-three 1) Able to communicate (read <br /> hours and write) in the English language. <br /> 2) Make medications available to residents and <br /> properly record such action. <br /> As long as four-six In addition to above, must be able: <br /> hours 3) To cook and serve a meal. <br /> 4) Give necessary feeding assistance. <br /> 5) Be CPR certified. <br /> 6) Have first aid training. <br /> 7) Be able to give personal care. <br /> 8) Be able to dress and bathe residents. <br /> 4) Be able to continue recreational programs. <br /> 10) Be able to transport residents to out-of-home <br /> events and appointments. <br /> 11) Be able to carry out necessary transfer <br /> techniques. <br /> 12) Be able to accurately take and record <br /> temperature, pulse, and respiration. <br /> Greater than six hours In addition to above, must be able to <br /> hours 13) Do necessary shopping for home and residents. <br /> 14) Follow planned menus including special menus <br /> and be able to make appropriate substitution if <br /> required. <br /> 15) Have sufficient knowledge and experience in <br /> nursing techniques to care for the residents. <br /> (e) In Type II homes there shall be: <br /> (1) An adequate number of qualified staff, as determined necessary by the <br /> department, awake, dressed, and on duty at all times; <br /> (2) At least one staff member of each shift shall be a nurse aide or a licensed <br /> nurse; <br />
