SAYRE MEMORIAL FUND TO THE HAWAII COUNTY FIRE <br /> DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund has presented a monetary gift of eighty <br /> thousand two hundred six dollars ($80,206) to the Hawaii County Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds will be used towards the purchase of rescue vehicles and <br /> associated equipment that will aid in rescue services around the island; and <br /> WHEREAS, forty one thousand six hundred fifty eight dollars and ninety-six cents <br /> ($41,658.96) of this monetary gift, had come from a donation by the Worldwide Triathlon <br /> Corporation to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this <br /> donation; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, provides that the <br /> Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of money, securities, or other <br /> personal property or real estate or any interest in real estate. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> HAWAII, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaii County Charter, the County <br /> of Hawaii Fire Department is authorized to accept this monetary gift of eighty thousand two <br /> hundred six dollars ($80,206) from the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Fund. <br /> <br />
