t~w~ <br /> ~`y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ••~M M~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 5 U6 U 6 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br /> YEAR AND MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE OF <br /> REAL PROPERTY FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL AND OFFICE OF <br /> THE COUNTY CLERK <br /> WHEREAS, on October 18, 2005, the council adopted Resolution No. 188-05, for the <br /> lease of 6,871 square feet of office space for the council and clerk's staff from BF Hilo Partners <br /> for a period of 12 months; and <br /> WHEREAS, the lease with BF Hilo Partners was executed on June 20, 2006; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council finds that there is uncertainty as to the time <br /> needed to renovate the Hawaii County Building; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease, or <br /> other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal yeaz and <br /> more than one fiscal yeaz be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds budgeted in the current fiscal year to cover the <br /> anticipated obligations of the County under the lease agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Council wishes to enter into a Sve (5) yeaz extension <br /> <br /> of the lease agreement with BF Hilo Partners for the 6,871 square feet of office space located at <br /> 333 Kilauea Avenue, Hilo, Hawaii, 96720 to coincide with the lease agreement dates for the <br /> <br /> Legislative Research Branch and the Reprographic Division approved under Resolution No. <br /> <br /> 460 -06. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> <br /> OF HAWAII: <br /> 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amulti-year lease agreement for <br /> office space for the Hawaii County Council. <br /> 2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated <br /> obligations of the County under the lease agreement. <br /> <br />
