No. 1057/Bill No. 336 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa <br /> 78-128 `Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 8:30 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 336, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 336, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 1057, dated <br /> September 5, 2006, amends Ordinance No. 06-80, as amended, the Capital Budget, ending June 30, 2007, by <br /> adding the following project: <br /> PUBLIC WORKS: <br /> Kaumana Drive Flood Protection -Federal 110.299.5299.62 $50,000 <br /> Funds for these projects shall be provided from: <br /> Federal Grants Receivable $50,000 <br /> Previously, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Natural Resources Conservation Service (MRCS) had <br /> provided $300,000 to the County of Hawaii for reimbursement of consultant fees necessary to prepare a <br /> plan to provide flood protection to homes along Kaumana Drive between Chong Street and one-half mile <br /> above Wilder Road. The work is to be based on the Waipahoehoe Stream flood analysis completed by the <br /> NRCS in 2003.
