No. 1078 <br /> <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> <br /> TIME: 9:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 1078, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 1078, transmitted by Dir~.ctor of Finance William Takaba, dated <br /> September 14, 2006, authorizes the acceptance of donations from the Volcano School of Arts <br /> and Science. <br /> The Volcano School of Arts and Science, Ms. Marilyn Heistand and Grade 3 class has graciously <br /> donated $500.00 to the Department of Parks & Recreation Aquatics Division. The purchase of <br /> water polo equipment (two junior water polo goals and water polo balls) will be used by the <br /> Pahala community children for water polo practice and competition at the Pahala Pool. <br /> Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the <br /> County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property. <br /> Also, pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(c), Hawaii County Code, any donation or <br /> gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance shall <br /> be submitted to the Council by letter for its approval. <br /> A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Vol.;ano School of Arts and Science, Ms. Marilyn <br /> Heistand and Grade 3, P.O.
