The property is located at the north comer of the Kawili Street and <br /> Kapiolani Street intersection, Waiakea, South Hilo, Hawaii, Tax Map Keys: 2-4-57:29, portion <br /> <br /> of 30 and portion of 31 (formerly 2-4-57: portion of 1). <br /> <br /> PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT <br /> 1. Request: The applicant is requesting the change of zone for 4.888 acres from an Open <br /> (O) to a Multiple Family Residential -1,000 squaze feet (RM-1) district in order to <br /> enhance the lives of veterans, and active and reserve military personnel and their families <br /> by providing an affordable housing complex and cone-stop center that consolidates the <br /> many service delivery agencies now located at dispazate locations azound the state. The <br /> project site is approximately 7.43 acres in size, which includes the 4.888-acre portion that <br /> is being rezoned and the remaining azea that is currently zoned RM-1. <br /> 2. Project Description: The components of the project include the following: <br /> A. Combined Veteran's Center: The CVC office building will consist of: <br /> • Office space to house several agencies and veteran service providers, <br /> including the U.S. Department of Veterans Administration, the Disabled <br /> American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wazs, and other related <br /> organizations to offer a full range of services to active and retired military <br /> members and their dependants. <br /> • Within aone-story, 6,200 square foot, ADA-accessible building. <br /> B. Affordable Senior Housing: The affordable senior housing will consist of: <br /> • Approximately 96 to 110 independent-living aparunent units for eligible <br /> veteran seniors (62+) and widowed spouses of deceased veterans in a mix <br /> of one- and two-bedroom units. <br /> • The units will range from 800 to 1,000 square feet in size and will be <br /> located within three 4-story apartment buildings. <br /> • The units will be sold to eligible buyers as affordable lease-hold life <br /> estates with tazget prices for the units ranging from $225,000 to $285,000. <br /> • Within three 4-story apartment buildings. <br /> ATTACH: Calm. 87 ~ <br /> Bi11 26 <br /> <br />
