C. Multi-Purpose Facility: This facility will provide: <br /> • Residential dining, socializing areas, meeting and conference rooms, and <br /> banquet facilities for veteran groups and the community to hold social and <br /> cultural events, workshops, conferences, and other activities. <br /> • It will have a commercial kitchen, a lounge azea, a large banquet room <br /> with stage with spill-over rooms, library, dining rooms, a recreation room <br /> and exercise center, a conference room a mail room and an administrative <br /> office. <br /> • Within a 15,000 squaze foot building. <br /> D. Additional Improvements: Additional improvements planned for the project <br /> include: <br /> • Open courts and landscaped lawns, including landscaping to buffer the <br /> project from adjacent streets and properties. <br /> • Three driveway accesses to the project site proposed along with ample off- <br /> street parking. <br /> • Will connect to supporting infrastructure, including County water, sewer, <br /> electricity, and telephone. <br /> 3. Proposed Site Plan: According to the site plan, there will be three accesses to the <br /> project site, which includes Kawili, Kapiolani and Ululani Streets. The CVC office <br /> building, the multi-purpose facility and one of the housing buildings will be situated <br /> along Kawili Street. The other two housing buildings will be situated behind the multi- <br /> purposebuilding towards the Ululani Street entrance. <br /> <br /> 4. Project Schedule and Cost: According to the applicant, the project will be constructed <br /> in three phases with the commencement of construction anticipated in 2007 and <br /> completion estimated in 2012. Construction costs aze estimated at 32 million dollars. <br /> The phases consist of the following: <br /> • Phase 1: The Combined Veteran's Center (CVC) from 2007 to 2008. Estimated <br /> to cost 3 million dollars. <br /> • Phase 2: The Multi-purpose Facility from 2008 to 2010. Estimated to cost S <br /> million dollars. <br /> • Phase 3: The Affordable Senior Housing from 2008 to 2012. Estimated to cost 24 <br /> million dollazs. <br /> 5. Owner: Ownership of the property has been transferred from dte State to the County by <br /> Executive Order Nos. 4014 and 4108 for the express purpose of establishing a combined <br /> veteran's center, veteran's housing and related purposes.
