't6Qfi DEC 28 P(~ ~ ~2
c
De6rt~ber 28, 2006

Council Chairman Hoffman

Aloha,
I dislike the bill to control animals. I do not have a dog but, a law to control the dog is
outrageous. The dog next door, let's call him Charlie, barks as a waming signal of
intruders. He is fairly new to the neighborhood but, became necessary since, the
resident has been hit by burglary twice or three times recently. Charlie slipped his leash
and I called him and he followed me back to his garage and I tied him up. We have cats
they cross his path daily sometimes he barks but, most of the time he recognizes them
and not a whimper. Our cats are spade and neutered.
When the neighbors are not home and he barks I look that way or I turn on my outside
light to check. This new regulation will find me in court testifying for Charlie or Coco my
neighbors dogs should someone complain.
I live in Mr, Ikeda's distract but, I caution all Council if this is your high priority you are
wasting my money and yours. Look at all the illegal vehicles traveling up and down our
streets un-licensed operated by minors and disrupting our traffic. They are dangerous.
This is already a law that the police have to deal with. Give it to the Humane Society?
Right, they don't even catch the strays when you call them; they catch the pets.
If this is your high priority as new Council Chair resign and go back to the Westside.
Don't waste anymore time. Let the people call the Humane Society for the dogs and
cats. Go after the real problems in our community, abandon property, rubbish dumpers
and the illegal drivers.
Mahalo,
~l'~
Comm. No.
Ref.
