REQUEST: <br /> 1) Requesting a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State Department of <br /> Health, Executive Office on Aging to receive federal grant funds for the Healthy Aging Partnership - <br /> Empowering Elders project. <br /> 2) Requesting a bill for an ordinance to appropriate $78,760.00 for the Healthy Aging Partnership - <br /> Empowering Elders project. $3,760 for Office of Aging and $75,000 for Hawaii County Nutrition Program. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The County of Hawaii was awarded grant funds from the Administration on Aging to coordinate the <br /> mobilization of the public and private partnerships at the community level to implement and sustain the <br /> delivery of evidence-based prevention through an aging service provider organization. In addition to Hawaii <br /> County, this statewide effort includes the State Executive Office on Aging and two other Area Agencies on <br /> Aging.
