Providing contract management. <br /> At this time, there is an existing contract for the installation of a network of sewer lines in the <br /> Papaikou area. The contract started on June 5, 1996. It is proposed that this existing contract be amended to <br /> install the proposed extension. This existing contract is the result of the standard bidding and award <br /> procedures. That is after the planning, engineering and design were completed, bids were submitted by <br /> various companies and a low responsible bid by a qualified bidder was selected to perform the job. The <br /> selected lowest bidder was some 20% lower than the next lower bid which is substantial in this competitive <br /> business. The price of the proposed work will be only the direct costs ojconstruction and inspection, and <br /> they wall be based on the same unit cods of this on-going contract. <br /> The community will surely appreciate your favorable vote on this issue.
