HI Coalition -Emergency General $20,000 <br /> To: <br /> 010.471.5472.43 OSM -Kihei Pua Emerg. Shelter General $20,000 <br /> Pursuant to Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(b) of the Hawaii County Code, "in the event <br /> that a grantee nonprofit organization is unable or unwilling to provide the public service(s) for <br /> which a grant was appropriated, the mayor may direct the fmance director to solicit applications <br /> from eligible nonprofit organizations to fulfill the specific public purpose(s) for which the funds <br /> were originally appropriated for the remainder of the fiscal year. The director shall forward <br /> recommended application(s) and appropriation measure(s) to the council for its decision. Funds <br /> appropriated to a successor nonprofit organization shall not exceed the balance of unexpended <br /> County funds awarded to the original grantee nonprofit organization". <br /> In compliance with Chapter 2, Article 25 of the Hawaii County Code, a public notice for the <br /> solicitation of the application(s) was published in the local newspapers on January 19, 2007. An <br /> application was received from the Office of Social Ministry, a qualifying organization, to <br /> administer the Kihei Pua Emergency Shelter program, and that the remaining grant balance from <br /> <br /> the East Hawaii Coalition for the Homeless will be transferred to the Office of Social Ministry. <br /> FC REPORT NO. 57 <br /> <br />
