These PCs aze used by the Accountant III and the Senior Account Clerk for many <br /> essential functions including reconciliation of outstanding warrants, contract certification, <br /> monthly general ledger and journal entries, and inquiry/update into the Wang computer <br /> system. <br /> Therefore, I am requesting an appropriation of $4,500 to replace these two PCs with PCs <br /> that will be yeaz 2000 compatible. This amount will cover the cost of the PCs, the <br /> necessayy software (Windows 95 and Microsoft Office 97), the hazdwaze and softwaze <br /> necessary far emulation of the Wang computer system, and the cost of transferring <br /> existing data files from the old PCs to the new ones. One of these PCs will be equipped <br /> with a modem because it is the backup unit for electronic transmission of payroll and <br /> deferred compensation data each pay period. <br /> Your favorable consideration of this request would be greatly appreciated. <br /> I <br /> <br />
