REQUEST: <br /> Prepare a resolution to accept a grant from Fireman's Fund, an insurance company. <br /> Prepare a complimentary ordinance as follows: <br /> 3607.00 Contribution from Private Sources $12,500.00 <br /> 010.221.5228 Fire Grants $12,500.00 <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> Firemans Fund Insurance has a grant program which issues funds to fire departments throughout the <br /> United States for various needs. The Hawaii Fire Deparment (HFD) applied for and was granted $12,500 <br /> from this program. HFD, in its application, stated its intent to contract a certified instructor to qualify 10 - 20 <br /> Hawaii Fire Department personnel as Instructor II, under the National Fire Protection Association <br /> Qualification Board, which is reciprocal with the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) <br /> Fire Instructor I. Once this resolution is approved and the "Grant Compliance Agreement" signed, the grantor <br /> will present a check for the stated amount.
