EDWARD R~~ :,f'OZA
it
February 20, 2007
Dominic Yagong, Chair
Hawaii County Council
Committee on Finance
RE: Bil155 An ordinance to establish the Kailua Village Business Improvement
District
Dear Chair Yagong,
I'm writing in support of Bill 55 as a business and property owner, a community
member, and a third generation family member of the Kona Community with 3
young children. Our family has been a part of the Kona Community since the late
1800's and I'm proud of our heritage and the community we live, work, and play in.
Many changes have taken place in our community which some may say are changing
the way of life as we know it. I submit to you Mr. Yagong and County Council
Members that Bill 55 is a positive change that will have an impact on many
generations to come, for Kamaaina and malahini.
Kailua Village Business Improvement District will help to bring back the sense of
place that Kailua Village deserves within our cultural history. It will give land
owners, tenants, and patrons of Kailua Village a voice, a financial investment and
stewardship in its own destiny.
Thank you for your consideration of Bill 55 and your affu~native vote.

<G G-
Edward J.
