Our mission is to support and promote the Pana'ewa
Rainforest Zoo. We accomplish this by helping to create, improve and maintain
animal exhibits; purchase new animals; train volunteers to lead school tours;
provide events for family education and recreation; publicize the zoo and
events; provide animal enrichment and special care; and operate a gift shop for
the convenience and enjoyment of visitors.
Funding for these projects is produced by membership dues, donations at the
zoo entrance and gift shop, generous donations by community businesses and
friends, and our gift shop proceeds. Our membership currently is about 350.
Per George Saito, Zoo director, attendance at the zoo this year was
171,958.
Assets in addition to financial report:
Procter & Gamble Stock Certificate, $1,000 value
Reynolds American Inc.
