Also, as the agency provides services for over 2,400 <br /> individuals accounting for over 300,000 passenger trips and clerical help is <br /> needed to compile statistics, answer phones, se 1]. bus tickets and coupons, <br /> and assist. the public. <br /> 2. Can new duties be assigned to existing positions or handled in other way such as short <br /> term contracts, etc. <br /> Agency has used short term contracts, but it has become evident that a <br /> full time employee is needed. <br /> 3. How will new position increase the efficiency/effectiveness of operations? (Use <br /> productivity measurements where possible.: <br /> The position will ensure there are at least two people in the department's <br /> office (two Clerks along with Transit Assistant & Administrator) during all <br /> office hours. The agency handles upwards of 50 walk-in clients a day in <br /> addition to over a hundred phone calls. It will also allow Transit Assistant <br /> to devote more time to planning and operational activities, rather than <br /> assisting in clerical duties. <br /> <br />
