No. 249-07 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> <br /> TIME: 9:41 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 249-07, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 249-07, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 120 by Director of Finance <br /> William Takaba, via Communication No. 503, dated June 26, 2007, authorizes the Office of the <br /> Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General, <br /> Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division for an Equipped to Do Battle Against <br /> Domestic Violence grant. <br /> The State of Hawaii Department of the Attorney General, Crime Prevention and Justice <br /> Assistance Division has authorized a $2,576 grant to the Police Department for an Equipped to <br /> Do Battle Against Domestic Violence to improve the department's ability to effectively <br /> investigate cases involving violent crimes against women by obtaining equipment which will aid <br /> in the successful prosecution of offenders. <br /> Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, County Departments must obtain the consent <br /> of the Council to enter into agreements with the federal or state governments respecting action to <br /> be taken pursuant to any of the powers granted by law to furnish, expend and receive any funds <br /> or other assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br /> powers. <br /> There was no discussion on this measure. <br /> Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 249-07, <br /> and recommends its adoption. <br /> la <br /> Hues noes a&e ex Respectfully submitted, <br /> FORD X <br /> x?cA x COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br /> HOFFMANN X <br /> IKEDA X <br /> JACOBSON X - <br /> NAEOLE X CM--- <br /> rlLACO x DOMINIC YAGO C <br /> vncoxc X FC REP N 125 <br /> YOSHIMOTO X ADOPTED: JUL Z 5 207 <br /> <br />
