Mtr or <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ~ STATE OF HAWAII <br /> Ol~N~+ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 3'71 0'7 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL <br /> <br /> YEAR AND MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR AMULTI-YEAR LEASE OF <br /> <br /> REAL PROPERTY FOR THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY CLERK-ELECTIONS <br /> <br /> DIVISION. <br /> WHEREAS, section 10-11 of the Hawaii County Charter requires that any contract, <br /> lease, or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year <br /> <br /> and more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the County Clerk-Elections Division finds that the opening of <br /> a satellite Elections Office at suite 104 of the Pahoa Market Place Shopping Center (I 5-2662 <br /> Pahoa Village Road, Pahoa, Hawaii 96778) would be beneficial to both the public and the <br /> division; and <br /> WHEREAS, a satellite Elections Office at this location in Pahoa would maximize voter <br /> registration year-round and provide an opportunity for candidate filing and absentee voting <br /> during election years; and <br /> WHEREAS, the satellite Elections Office proposed for the Pahoa area would be <br /> available to the public for the 2008 Elections; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds budgeted in the current fiscal year to cover the <br /> anticipated obligations of the county under the lease agreement; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a five (5) year lease with Day- <br /> Lum Rentals and Management, Inc., for the approximately 800 square feet of professional office <br /> space located at the Pahoa Market Place Shopping Center (Suite 104, 15-2662 Pahoa Village <br /> Road, Pahoa, Hawaii 96778) at an approximate cost of $1,249.99 per month; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into amulti-year lease agreement for <br /> a satellite Elections Office for the Elections Division of the Office of the County <br /> Clerk. <br /> 2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated <br /> obligations of the County under the lease agreement; and <br /> <br />
