SAFE COMMUNITY HIGHWAY SAFETY PROGRAM <br /> QUARTERLY/FINAL REPORT <br /> PROJECT TITLE: HCPD DATA GRANT/TR07-03(09-H-01) <br /> The goal of this program is to initiate activities such as legislation that affects electronic <br /> data transfer and the implementation of Hawaii's statewide data system. <br /> Stategies: <br /> 1. Participate in Traffic Records Committee and Subcommittees and to attend monthly <br /> and special meetings. One Sergeant and Officer to attend the Annual National Traffic <br /> Records Forum. <br /> 2. Hire a consultant to implement forms and data into HCPD's RMS system and create <br /> and export utility to transfer electronic data. <br /> 3. Purchase five heavy-duty "Ruggedized" lap top computers with connectors and <br /> vehicle mounts for the electronic citation project and the electronic transfer of crash <br /> records. <br /> <br /> `r•...~ <br /> Statewide traffic commanders and other stakeholders will participate in monthly meetings <br /> of the traffic data records committee to address legislation that affects electronic data <br /> transfer and the implementation of Hawaii's statewide data system. <br /> GRANT PERIOD RESULTS: <br /> (QUARTERLY/FINAL REPORT) <br /> • Traffic Commander and officers attended Traffic Records Committee and Sub- <br /> committee meetings on Oahu as scheduled. <br /> • Traffic sub-committee has successfully drafted an updated Motor Vehicle Crash <br /> (MVC) form to be implemented statewide using MMUCC standards. <br /> • The Traffic Records Committee is presently creating an electronic MVC data <br /> transfer base or form. <br /> • The Hawaii County Police Department has successfully transferred electronic <br /> traffic data to the State Department of Transportation. <br /> • Traffic Coordinator and Sr. Clerk attended the National Traffic Records Forum. <br /> <br />
