HI-PAL Click it or Ticket 04-3-07 Page 1 of 1 <br /> HAWAII POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> HAWAII ISLE POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE <br /> OFFICER JOSEPH BOTELHO JR., HI-PAL COORDINATOR, EAST HAWAII <br /> PHONE: 961-2219/961-2220 <br /> FAX: 961-2209 <br /> APRIL 3, 2007 <br /> MEDIA RELEASE <br /> The Hawaii Police Department's Traffic Services Section and Hawaii Isle Police Activities League <br /> (HI-PAL) are sponsoring a "Click It or Ticket" three-on-three Basketball Tournament on May <br /> 18-20, at the Keaau High School Gymnasium. <br /> Team entries are being accepted in the following age groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15- <br /> 17 for boys; 12 and under, 14 and under and 15-17 for girls. A participant may play only in <br /> one division. The age cut-off date is December 31, 2007. <br /> "The goal of the tournament is to educate our parents and youths on our seat belt laws," said <br /> Sergeant Dexter Veriato, head of the Traffic Services Section. "Click It or Ticket" is a national <br /> educational and enforcement campaign to increase seat belt usage and decrease traffic <br /> fatalities and injuries. <br /> Teams wishing to participate are encouraged to call the HI-PAL office at 961-2219 or 961- <br /> 2220. HI-PAC's fax number is 961-2209. Each division will be limited and teams will be required <br /> to complete a registration packet prior to the tournament.
