Acquiring open top refuse trailers, with 102 cubic <br /> yard capacity and the ability to carry a heavier load of approximately 20 tons, would result <br /> in a lower frequency of refuse trailers being brought to the landfills to deposit their waste; <br /> thus reducing fuel and maintenance costs and road congestion on public highways. <br /> <br /> The Solid Waste Fund does not have the resources to purchase the referenced equipment <br /> and therefore request the authority to enter in a lease agreement for five (5) years.
