No. 846/Resolution No. 445-07 <br /> PLACE: Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa <br /> 78-128 `Ehukai Street <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 1:39 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 445-07, reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 445-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication <br /> No. 846, dated December 4, 2007, authorizes the payment of funds for more than one fiscal year <br /> for the lease of three (3) Open Top Refuse Trailers for the Deparhnent of Enviromnental <br /> Management Solid Waste Division. <br /> Open top refuse trailers with 102 cubic yard capacity and the ability to carry a heavier load of <br /> approximately 20 tons, would result in a lower frequency of refuse trailers being brought to the <br /> landfills to deposit their waste; thus reducing the fuel and maintenance costs and road congestion <br /> on public highways. <br /> The Solid Waste Fund does not have the resources to purchase the referenced equipment and <br /> therefore request the authority to enter into afive-year lease agreement.
