The additional truck tractors are needed to move the increased diverted <br /> residential waste, which includes green wastes from transfer stations, to recycling facilities, <br /> and/or white metal/scrap metal to the Scrap Metal facilities. The truck tractors will also be <br /> utilized in conjunction with the open top trailers which will consolidate the wastes from <br /> Pahala and Waiohinu transfer stations to minimize the truck traffic and driving time on the <br /> highway. <br /> <br /> The Solid Waste Fund does not have the resources to purchase the referenced equipment <br /> and therefore request the authority to enter in a lease agreement for five (5) years.
