REQUEST: <br /> <br /> Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for <br /> six (6) Truck Tractors for a period of five (5) years for the Department of <br /> Environmental Management Solid Waste Division. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> <br /> Additonal truck tractors are needed to move the increased diverted residential <br /> waste which includes green wastes from transfer stations to recycling facilities, <br /> and/or white metal/scrap metal to the Scrap Metal facilities. In addition, the truck <br /> tractors will be utilized in conjunction with the open top trailers which will <br /> consolidate the wastes from Pahala, and Waiohinu TS to minimize the truck <br /> traffic, and driving time on the highways. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The Solid Waste Fund does not have the resources to purchase the referenced <br /> equipment, and therefore requests the authority to enter into a lease program to <br /> finance the purchase over five (5) years.
