h~ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ~~tF Of ~N',N~ <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 445 0'7 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE <br /> <br /> THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR THREE (3) OPEN TOP REFUSE TRAILERS <br /> WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring <br /> payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, currently in place at the County transfer stations are 75 cubic yard refuse trailers which require its waste <br /> to be compacted to insure full capacity usage; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are several County transfer stations which can accommodate a refuse trailer, where waste can be <br /> deposited along the length of the trailer without any waste compaction; and <br /> WHEREAS, acquiring open top refuse trailers, with 102 cubic yard capacity and the ability to carry a heavier load of <br /> approximately 20 tons, would result in a lower frequency of refuse trailers being brought to the landfills to deposit their <br /> waste; thus reducing fuel and maintenance costs and road congestion on public highways; and <br /> WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a five (5) year contract to lease with purchase options for three (3) open <br /> top refuse trailers for solid waste operations. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Mayor is hereby <br /> authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with purchase options for the acquisition of three (3) open top <br /> refuse trailers for solid waste operations and that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated <br /> obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Mayor's Office and the <br /> Departments of Finance and Environmental Management. <br /> Dated at Hilo ,Hawaii, this 9th day of Januarv 2008. <br /> INTRODUCED BY: <br /> V4~-= <br /> COUNCIL MEMB , CO F HAWAII <br /> COUNTY COUNCIL ROLL CALL VOTE <br /> County of Hawaii AYES NOES AB5 EX <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> FORD <br /> 1 hereby certify that the foregoing RESOLUTION was by the HIGA X <br /> vote indicated to the right hereof adopted by the COUNCIL of the HoFFMANN X <br /> County ofHawai`ion January 9, 2008 IxEDA X <br /> JACOBSON X <br /> ATTEST NAEOLE X <br /> PILAGO X <br /> YAGONG X <br /> YOSHIMOTO X <br /> IA 9 0 0 0 <br /> Reference C-846/FC -207 <br /> { 1tiuQ,w <br /> C N Y CLERK CH PI~ESID G OF`FIC RESOLUTION NO. 44S O~ <br /> <br />
