Resolution No. 385-07, adopted on November 7, 2007, transferred $25,000 out of the Council District 5 Contingency Relief account for the Office of Housing and Community Development to establish a Pahoa Homeless Program. Resolution No. 420-07, adopted on November 20, 2007, transferred $17,000 out of the Council District 8 Contingency Relief account for the purpose of supplementing the supply of food to the Hawaii Island Food Basket. The Office for Social Ministry will be recipient of these funds. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating $25,000 into the OSM - Pahoa Homeless Program account and $17,000 into the and the OSM - Hawaii Island Food Basket account. Since the monies have already been approved for transfer to the Housing Fund, the Office of Housing and Community Development would like to request a waiver from the Finance committee and have this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for December 19, 2007.
