Received commitment from Government to continue funding for the aero -medical <br />program for 12 hours. <br />C. Fire Prevention <br />1996-97 <br />(1) Administrative Rules - Fireworks <br />(2) State School Inspection Program for line companies <br />1997-98 <br />Completion of the 1994 Uniform Fire Code <br />d. Volunteer Training <br />The securing of CDBG funds has allowed the volunteer construction of two <br />volunteer fire stations, Pepeekeo and Hawaiian Ocean View Estates (HOVE) which is <br />in progress now. The CDBG funds were also utilized for the purchase of a new <br />fire truck in Pepeekeo and a new mini -pumper in HOVE. <br />3. WHAT EMERGING TRENDS OR ISSUES PARTICULAR TO YOUR DEPARTMENT MAY IMPACT YOUR BUDGET OR <br />OPERATIONS? <br />a. EMS <br />Reductions in forecasted State revenues causing an uncertainty of future State <br />funding for EMS programs. <br />b. Fire Prevention <br />None. <br />C. Training <br />NIOSH (OSHA) and NFPA requirements for upgrading personnel protective equipment <br />to be in compliance with new health/safety standards. <br />d.
