But with each passing year, new editions of
the books and updated training guides come out which can be excessively expensive to buy.

Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, along with King & Neel, Atlas Insurance, and Business
Insurance, have teamed up to donate $18,199 to Hawaii County Fire Department to make buying the
new supplies a bit easier. The money will be used to update all 21 department libraries with new, up-
to-date materials.

"Training is a critical component to the success of our department and the overall safety of the island,"
said Deputy Chief Glen Honda. "We base our department promotional exams on the content available
to everyone in these libraries, so it's critical that the information be current and accurate."

The grant package is part of a nationwide program called Fireman's Fund Heritage which is
funded by Fireman's Fund Insurance Company. The program is designed to provide needed
equipment, training and educational tools to local fire departments. Since 2004, Fireman's Fund has
issued grants to over 450 different departments totaling more than $14 million. Independent
insurance agencies that sell Fireman's Fund products are able to direct these grants to support fire
stations in their communities. King & Neel, Atlas Insurance, and Business Insurance combined their
three individual grants to support Hawaii County Fire Department's library system.

Each agency will present its check during a separate presentation attended by Fire Chief Darryl
Oliveira, Hawaii County firefighters, local dignitaries, and executives from Fireman's Fund:

Sunday, Nov. 11th Location for all presentations:
11 a.m. - King & Neel ($7,199) Hawaii Fire, South Kohala Fire Station
68-4550 Queen Kaahumanu Highway
Monday, Nov. 12th Kamuela, HI
9 a.m. - Atlas Insurance ($5,000)
10 a.m. - Business Insurance ($6,000)
-MORE-
©2007 Fireman's Fund Insurance Company, Novato, CA All rights reserved. +r. z
