ACTIVITY: SUB -ACTIVITY OR DIST: <br />STATUS <br />OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS (FY 97-98): <br />Objectives <br />Outcomes to Date / Explanation: <br />I) <br />To investigate applications to ensure compliance to <br />39 Applications received: 19 issued <br />filing requirements; to ensure that the applicant is fit and <br />19 processing1 <br />proper to hold a liquor license; to respond to public <br />withdrawal <br />concerns relating to the licensed premises. <br />4 Stock Transfers 3 approved <br />1 pending <br />2) <br />To review and consider amendments to the rules and <br />regulations of the Commission and Board, in response <br />to legislation and concerns of the industry. <br />Conducted intensive review of rules. <br />Significant proposals for rule amendments <br />proposed in 4th quarter of FY 1997-98. <br />3) <br />To conduct inspections of premises to determine <br />compliance with liquor laws; to investigate complaints <br />involving licensed premises; determine applicability of <br />See attached. <br />liquor laws. <br />See attached. <br />4) <br />To educate and inform licensees of liquor laws and <br />related information which affects their business. <br />See attached. <br />5) <br />To conduct hearings on violations of liquor laws, review <br />procedures and ensure compliance. <br />See attached. <br />6) <br />To review and amend procedures and services of the <br />department to ensure efficiency, including training of <br />staff, Commission, Board. <br />10 <br />
